HOW ABOUT COCKTAIL HOUR AND DINNER MUSIC?
Funny you should ask! Wedding playlists vary depending on the timeline of your wedding. If you’re curious about appropriate songs for your ceremony, cocktail hour or dinner, then check out our other playlists here. Lots of couples have a very eclectic taste in music and wonder if they can hear the music they love on their special day. When searching for DJs for weddings it can be a bit stressful if you think your DJ won’t play what you want to hear. I will explain how you can ABSOLUTELY hear your favorite music on your special day!
You see, cocktail hour and dinner time are the best times to squeeze in those non dance numbers. Cocktail hour is a time when people are schmoozing, discussing the gorgeous ceremony they just witnessed and enjoying their drink and food. Dinner time is when people are literally just sitting and eating. That’s why if you have some indie songs, or weird cover songs you love, choosing cocktail hour or dinner time is an ideal time to have these songs played.
DJs FOR WEDDINGS
Now, if your DJ is NOT willing to play your favorite songs during cocktail or dinner time, then hire another one! That’s right, I said it. Our wedding DJs all know that their job is to make the bride and groom happy and THEN they can do their job and make sure everyone is dancing when they are supposed to. So don’t settle for anything less.
CEREMONY MUSIC
Here’s the thing about your ceremony. It will be about an hour long. Unless you are having an orthodox greek wedding then it could take much longer. No seriously, most couples always think their ceremony will only take 15 minutes. While that might be true, there are those 30 minutes or more that guests are arriving at their seats. So you will want a playlist of music in the background if you’re not going the live musician route. This is also another GREAT opportunity to have your more eclectic choices of music played.
